Another bulk order of the paperback of ‘The Order of the White Boar’ on its way – just in time for pre-Christmas sales!
Christmastime is important in ‘The Order’ as a time that takes Duke Richard (and Matthew) away from friends and family at Middleham Castle – Richard both for pleasure at his brother’s court (although Matt isn’t convinced he enjoys his time there amongst the royal luxuries and revels) and for the business of Parliament that follows in January. Both of them miss those they have left behind in Yorkshire.
But in terms of Matthew’s story, it’s Twelfth Night that is most memorable – the evening that ends the Christmas festivities, with a feast and entertainments to surpass all others that he attends at Westminster. He receives a valuable gift from the King (as does Murrey, his faithful hound), but more important to him are the events of the day – from riding with the King and Prince of Wales to . . . well, you’ll have to read it to find out 😉🐗🐎
